---Earthquake Resistance--- Indian code does not permit use of steel REBARS with less than 14.5% elongation in Earthquake zones. All grades of Premium TMT REBARS guarantee well above 18%. In a series of tests, concrete beam column joints, reinforced with Premium TMT were subjected to repeated reverse loading with inelastic strains. These simulation tests were conducted to evaluate their performance during an earthquake.
---Weld Ability--- Premium TMT REBARS can be butt- welded or lap-welded simply by using ordinary rutile-coated electrodes of matching strength - an obvious advantage in manual arc welding, where no pre-warming or post heat treatment is required. Hence, it can be used in making of pre-welded meshes. The same is done without reduction in strength of weld joints.
---Corrosion Resistance--- Thermo-Mechanical Treatment results in superior corrosion- resistance characteristics compared to traditional cold twisted bars because there are no residual tensional stresses in the bar.Premium TMT REBARS show virtually no rusting even after a long time as there is absence of residual stress caused in case of CTD Bars.
---Cost Saving---- Premium TMT REBARS provide more value for money due to saving of as high as 24% in steel consumption compared to ordinary bars.
